We are interested in the development of silver-NHC complexes with unusual and novel binding motifs. We also look into the application of these compounds, mainly as catalysts.
- Chelatinng ligands for silver ion. We prepared unusual silver chelates, bearing bidentate NHC-carbene-based ligand with bisamidate linker. Interestingly, same ligand, with a different ratio of the silver source, provides tetranuclear silver complex ligated by two ligands. The chelates were found to posses good antimicrobial and catalytic properties in A3 coupling.
- Chelatinng ligands for silver ion - second generation. We improved some physical properties of the silver chelates, such as solubility, by introducing longer chains on the termnal positions of the NHC carbene ligand. This led to easier isolation of the complex and to avoiding the losses of the material connected to low solubility of the original complex. The new complex showed a good catalytic activity in KA2 multicomponent reaction.
